Young man declares his love by 600 roses
In the morning of December 21, a young man arranged a heart of 600 red roses on the alluvial bank amid the Red River, Hanoi, to show his love to a girl.
The owner of this ‘big heart’ is a second-year student from the Hanoi College of Technology named Le Van Long, and this is the avowal of love to his classmate, Nguyen Thu Hien.
Long prepared for this event from ten days ago and he kept it secret to Hien. He got up at 2am to buy 600 red roses from the Quang Ba flower wholesale market.
The boy arranged the rose-made heart by himself, in three hours, on the alluvial bank under the 100-year-old Long Bien Bridge. Inside the heart are two letters L (for Long) and H (for Hien). He finished the work at 8 am and waited for his girlfriend’s appearance.
Long also prepared a candy and the 601st rose to give to Hien. The boy’s effort was repaid. The girl appeared, received the rose and she was so touched that could not move.
The couple sat inside the heart to talk. Long said that he fell in love with the girl one year ago, but until now he wasn’t brave enough to show his affection to her.
The alluvial bank under the Long Bien Bridge is often chosen by young people to declare their love. In March 2010, a young man made a giant card for his girlfriend on the International Day for Women (March 8) on this bank, with the assistance of 20 people. This work attracted the attention of people who traveled across the bridge.
